There are thousands of flash games on the internet, but most of them are really poor executed or are just plain stupid. But there are some that really make a difference. This is a game I found via the Flashfocus forum, and I really liked it. The graphic style is very nice, and the game shows the whole process of making “stroopwafels”! The weird thing is, that they made it look like some asian experience, and actually it works! Go check it out now!

May 29, 2007Teachers are lazy f*cks!
May 22, 2007I know it’s freakin easy to bash your school on everyting that’s going wrong. But when they hold us respossible for their faults I go nuts. I really love my school, but…
Seriously I can’t take it anymore why these teachers are lazy as hell! I’ll admit some are doïng a good job (Carolien, Jim and Bas are working their ass off) But some teachers don’t get it at all. They give up some random assignments (wich are not written in the holy study guide) and totally miss-calculate the time students need for their homework. Other than that it’s rediculous that after you turned in your assignment you have to wait for months to get your grade back. And even more frustrating is that they tell you what your grade is but totally forgot to give it to the front-office to put your grades on your offical grade-list. Today I got a lovely e-mail from miss Adolfs who tells us to mail the teachers for the grades that are missing a.s.a.p. uhmm… NO! Why do students have to spam mail teachers over and over and over again and again to get the grades on their list. It’s their freakin’ job! Don’t blame students for not pushing teachers to turn in their grades… They should be old, smart and professional enough to do that themselves! They are getting paid for it! In fact, we are paying you to educate us! So why is the pressure on us when they don’t do their job right?! One word: Power. And the fun thing is.. they don’t have it… It’s just an illusion they hold up to fool students that they are in control of what they are doïng… But they don’t, they are even worse than students! I mean common, how freakin hard is it to judge some banners? It’s not like we made a huge paperwork in latin, so why does it take a whole month to judge us? (seriously, some don’t deserve to be a teacher!) I even browse to other classes to see what they made and I do that for fun and interest. And yes, I see them all one by one. And I dare any teacher to do what I need to do to keep up for one week (including all that I need to do besides school)! Let’s switch places for one week! That would be great! I dare you…
Sigh… too bad there’s nothing we can do about it….
Re-cycle
May 20, 2007
I just had one of the biggest mindf*cks ever! But it was so good! I just watched a movie called “Re-Cycle” (Asiamania, always great martial-arts and horror movies). It’s a bout a woman who just started writing a new book. But she’s having trouble to get the right inspiration and isn’t happy with anything she writes. This seems like a normal situation (every creative person knows how hard it is if you can’t get out what’s in your mind). But at this point, the movie is gonna make a twist. She starts to see vague figures in her house, gets weird telephone calls and she is starting to trip out. This goes so far that she enters another world. A world where she doesn’t belong but she also created it. Imagion everything you ever forgotten, banished, or just threw away, and get confronted with it in a sick twisted world. I won’t tell any more about it cause I know some really wanna see this movie first.
I’m not a good reviewer or something, but so you know what to expect: Lots of scary kids and creeps, Lots of visual effects (some good some poor), A world you could picture in video games, and I think one of the best story concepts ever!
Beïng creative is good for your enviorment!
May 17, 2007And to prove this statement you should check this out! In Brazil there’s a large traffic tunnel. It’s so bad in there that the walls are totally black. So someone (OSSÁRIO) thought, let’s do something with that, because you can scrape that black filth off… Let’s make some graffiti on it while cleaning it up… Too bad the cops don’t like skulls and they finally cleaned the whole tunnel with a hose (should have done that earlier stupid pigs!). But they are not just skulls, they symbolize for those who died because of the polution.
Try drugs, online!
May 17, 2007Althoug I don’t like any drug or alcoholic drink, I’ll admit that I tried it. It was a really silly situation so that was funny but the rest was boring as hell. Back when I was still a “Grafisch Lyceum” student, we had to go to the city ZOO to draw some animals (we where soo exited… not!). So we made a plan to make it more fun. We smuggled in a book full with animals, we copied these on our papers and went to the huge playground. There we went into the maze where we found a spot where no one could see us (we thought). So we sat down and smoked some… for about 20 minutes I think. The others already where mumblng things like “dude this is soo relax!”, And I was still waiting for something to happen. But it never did… So I was disapointed and was about to leave that place… But instead of sneaking out like nothing ever happend me and my friends got caught on that moment. And we where thrown out of the ZOO. Now that wasn’t really bad, cause I didn’t like it anyway, but we totally forgot to turn in our assignments… So we got an “1″ for not turning in anything and we had to go back to the ZOO again to do the assignment again (no smoking that time). For so far my “great” experience with drugs… But that’s not the reason I told this. You should check out the following website. it’s about the experience I should have had when I started smoking, but it never hapend to me.. but now you can experience it online! Well, it’s not the reason why they made this, it is ment as a warning, but I find it very entertaining to use my mouse and trying to click on “continue”.
RackGaki
May 13, 2007Normally I don’t find it too hard to get a nice present for someone, but when it comes to my parrents. pff… I really wouldn’t know what they really, really really wanna have. So today it was “mothers(let’s get commercial abused!)day” and untill this afternoon I didn’t had a clue what to buy for her. Make-up, parfume, bathing oil, she already have tons of that shit. So what do you do… I just started walking around, and had a look at some of their favorite stores. But after an whole hour I still didn’t know what to buy. So I thought, screw it, I’m gonna go somewhere where I wanna look formyself and maybe I walk into something. Donner! uhm.. sorry i ment, Selexyz! (I always mess up the name when I pernounce it) As always I walk straight to the informatica area to have a looksee at some usability books. No new books so I was curious if they would have a “pictoplasma” book. And guess what they got them all!!! I think I stood there for a whole half hour as happy as a child with a candybar. Until I noticed a different kind of book…

RackGaki // Japanese Graffiti
Only the title was enough to make me exited about this book. For those who have sprayed some know that a style makes or breaks you in this scene. And if you are talking about style, about design, about orginality, about devotion… I say: Tokyo! The place to be! Some day I’ll go there and get fully inspired by the whole city. But about the book, it’s a collection of some great pieces by various crews who are active in the Tokyo – Shibuya and Nagoya area. Check it out for some random inspiration.
Ohw, by the way, I bought the book “Stout” for my mom. And she actually liked it!
Dropdown and slide to the side!
May 12, 2007Nope, the title isn’t a cool dance move (could have been though). It’s about something weird I just noticed in Photoshop. Pthotoshop is “the” tool for all kinds of designers. It’s an easy to do but freakin hard to master program. Sure there are lots of presets wich any nubcacke could use, but only good designers don’t scew up their image with filters. Anywayz, let’s get to the point.
For such an important program for so many people, there’s something really weird about the interface. And especially about the dropdown menu’s. Take a lookt a the screen captures:
The first and last dropdown are pretty understandable, but what about the one in the middle? Why use sliders wich move horizontal with a drowpdown? Why not just vertical? Look at the sliers in flash, they are all vertical…
I don’t know if this is still the same in CS3, but it really madequestion why they would have done this.
F*ck you and your cancer!
May 11, 2007More and more I hear people swearing & cursing with the word: “Cancer”. I notice it at school, outside on the street. It’s almost a common word to abuse for frustrations and anger. I’ll be the first one to admit that I swear and curse alot, but I’ll never use the word cancer. Why is this such an issue for me you ask?
Because words like: fuck, cunt, prick, motherfucker or such, are not that personal as cancer. Cancer is like we all know, a terrible disease. And lots of people are suffering from it, not only the ones who actually have cancer, but also friends, family, classmate whatever. They are all confronted with it. Now I ask myself why is it nessecary to use cancer as curse, when you know you are hurting people with it, who aren’t even involved in your frustrations. And even more dumb is that kids are trying to make it sound cool by saying stuff like: “Kenker” (dutch slang when trying to cancer in a cool way). It really is frustrating to hear them say it over and over again and thinking that they are so freakin’ cool. I don’t really know a good solution for this but it’s becomming more and more frustrating and I don’t know exactly how to make it clear for those who are abusing this diseas for beïng “cool”.
From yesterday
May 8, 2007For our new project called “Musicweb” and a new assignment for IAD, we have to do some research about music and anything that has a connection to it. Just filling our brains with as much info as possible. Now while I was listening to some of my favorite bands and surfing around on youtube I found a great video! Not just a music clip but a real video. I just love it when an artist or a band do something more than just the standard here’s a clip and here’s my music now enjoy kind of stuff. The band “30 seconds to mars” made a short movie of their song wich is great. I already have a soft spot for martial arts and those wicked B kung-fu movies (gotta love them). But when I saw this extended video of them I was really happy to be entertained. MTV should show more ofthese video’s instead of those lame “pimp my room raiders I wanna be made” crap programs.
